We here at Valerie & Co. adore all of the surprise proposals we've been a part of and photographed. We love telling the couple's love story and how it all happened, but, this time, we want to share The Bride's Side! Newly engaged beautiful bride to be, Hayley, gave us the story of how Mitch proposed. We are very excited to share it and their awesome surprise engagement photos with you now!

You just don't know where you'll meet your true love. You could be young and meet your high school sweetheart in class, or you may meet your love in the prime of your life while out one evening with friends. You could connect with someone online or through work. Or you could meet on the other side of the world like the newly engaged, Tyler and Liz! Liz is from Sayville, NY and Tyler is from Cleveland, OH, but the two of them met and fell in love while at Australia's Bond University during their time studying abroad. After dating for four years, Tyler wanted to take Liz to the beautiful Boone Hall Plantation and get engaged under the grand and historic Avenue of Oaks! Read on to learn all the details that Tyler shared with us about his & Liz's proposal and to see some of their sweet surprise proposal pictures. :-)

Have you had a sneaking suspicion lately that there's a good possibility your partner is about to propose?! But, how can you know??? We just photographed Brandon's surprise proposal to Katie, and leading up to their engagement, there was at least one detail that our studio knows about that could've clued you in on Brandon's plans to ask Katie if she would marry him! Now, we here at Valerie & Co. Photographers LOVE a good secret, and we'd never want to ruin anyone's surprise. However, if you've been starting to think your man is going to get down on one knee, but you want to be a little prepared and would maybe enjoy going to get a manicure before a brand new ring is slipped on your finger, we can tell you about a little sign that could give you a heads up that your guy may be ready to pop the big question!

Newly engaged, Justen and Rachel are a beautiful couple who now have absolutely beautiful surprise engagement photos they'll always cherish. While visiting Charleston, these two got engaged in front of the Waterfront Park Pineapple Fountain at sunset and, BOY, you just can't beat a carolina sunset! We're so glad we got to help Justen with the super sweet surprise and that we got to capture his and Rachel's special moment for them. It's so fun sharing their surprise engagement photos with everyone, especially those dreamy sunset shots, and we know you'll love them as much as we do! Read on to learn more about wonderful Justen and Rachel and to see the gallery of their perfect pinapple fountain proposal pictures. :-)

Here at Valerie & Co. Photographers, we don't just photograph weddings, or proposals. We don't just shoot events, or headshots. And we don't just do family, or newborn portraits. Our studio does all of that AND then some, and we love it! Because we are passionate about a wide range of types of photography, we often get to see the different life stages of the wonderful people we photograph. They become like family to us and as the years go by and we do more and more sessions with them, we get to enjoy seeing how each person grows and changes. We photographed beautiful Cayce for her high school senior portraits and we've adored her ever since. A few years have passed and now we've had the pleasure of photographing her and Jamie's Boone Hall Plantation engagement session, and Cayce's downtown Charleston Bridal Portraits! It was so special to photograph Cayce, engagement to wedding gown. :-) We're excited to be able to share a few images from our sessions with Cayce here on the blog! Read more about Cayce, her hubby, Jamie, and their love story below and enjoy going through the fantastic photos from our sessions!

Pregnancy is such a unique season in life, and even though some days may not feel this way, it can all go by very quickly. It's wonderful to look back at that time of anticipation, hope, and excitement, and fondly reminisce with maternity portraits because, before you know it, life changes and your sweet little bundle of joy has arrived! Once baby is here, you’ll then need newborn portraits. :-) Babies are precious, no matter how old, however, newborn photos are such treasures to have taken before that tiny-brand-new-baby stage is gone forever. Maternity & newborn sessions with Valerie & Co. Photographers go together like ice cream and cake! They’re both so sweet and your maternity session and newborn session will be the best way to celebrate and save those sweet memories of your growing family. This spring, the Griner family chose to bundle their maternity session and newborn session for a super sweet combo!

According to the renowned Travel + Leisure Magazine, the best place in THE WORLD to travel to, is Charleston, South Carolina! Every year, in the middle of the summer, the periodical publication releases it's list for the World's Best Cities. The magazine claims that "from ancient capitals to modern metropolises, these are the cities you'll want to add to your bucket list." For the first time ever, an american city claimed the #1 spot on the list, and that city is Charleston. :-) That being said, it's no wonder why Brandon chose to propose to his love, Amanda, while visiting the Holy City for vacation! This wonderful couple can now boldly claim that they got engagaed in the BEST CITY IN THE WORLD! Read more below about these two and check out their beautiful surprise proposal photos. :-)
