As a Charleston Wedding Photographer, there are few things more exhilarating than getting asked to photograph a proposal. I’m hidden…here they come…my heart is beating like I’m playing an extreme sport…and then it happens, the moment he pops the question and both of their lives change forever. I admit I might be tearing up behind the camera a little bit!
We couldn’t be happier for these two sweet people. God definitely knew what He was doing bringing this couple together!
When it comes to Charleston Engagement Photography, this session is definitely one of our recent favorites! Set in historic downtown Charleston, this shoot captured Chantal and Rich perfectly. Chantal, a hairstylist, and Rich, a civilian contractor in Afghanistan, have been long distance their entire relationship. We are THRILLED that they are finally together to do their Engagement Shoot, especially in the greatest city on earth! They drove all the way from Charlotte to be photographed on the stunning cobblestone Wharf streets and underneath the gorgeous Spanish Moss in Hampton Park.
As a Charleston Wedding Photographer, seeing different amazing places and getting to take in wonderful experiences, comes with the pleasure of capturing a couple’s union. The wedding of Lauren and Jason provided attendees with the chance to admire an exquisite Charleston location, and enjoy a very special experience. What was most prized by all, however, was the opportunity the day gave for each person to show their love and celebrate the sweet couple! Lauren and Jason adore Charleston South Carolina and always knew they wanted to have their wedding in this city so rich in history and beauty.
“Who are you wearing?” is a question you hear a lot while watching a red carpet event. Seeing all the fashion is fun, BUT for a bride, her wedding day is 1,000x times better than any Oscar’s Ceremony. Celebrities may strut their stuff down the red carpet while wearing fancy award attire, but there is no comparison to a bride in her gown coming down the wedding aisle! This Charleston Wedding Photographer is giving our wonderful wedding clients and the fabulous wedding dress shop Gown Boutique of Charleston, more fanfare in our own version of a red carpet wrap up.
Being a Charleston Wedding Photographer, you get to learn so many couples sweet love stories. Holly and Jason know how to make love last! The two got together in August of 2003 while in high school; she in 10th grade and he in 11th. Through school, college, long distance, and the military, they have been there for each other. After 11 years together, Jason was ready to surprise Holly with his proposal! Jason gave up Monday night football and wanted to ask Holly out for a dinner date...
Weddings are the celebration of a couple joining together, and this Charleston Wedding Photographer knows having all of your family and friends with you is what turns any event into a real celebration! When Melissa and Beau think of their wedding, they cherish the fact that all of their loved ones could join them for their big day! However, it wasn’t just family, friends, and the Bride and Groom coming together, but, this also marked two families being brought together to make one happy family for Melissa, Beau, AND their sons! Their two boys are both very charming and each looked dapper in their suits the day of the wedding. Everything was just excellent, making it a pleasant day for all!
Emily and Eric have been photographed by Valerie many times, not the least of which was for their beautiful wedding! In August, Valerie and Co. Photographers again photographed Emily and Eric with the addition of one more… their Newborn daughter Mary Catherine! We were so excited and honored to meet their brand new baby girl and be their Charleston Family Photographer. Mary Catherine was sweet as she could be and is one of those babies who makes having a newborn seem not so stressful. She just has a peaceful disposition about her. It is fun being a part of a newborn session and seeing parents proudly bring their baby out (often for the first time other than a doctor’s appointment) to show off the new little one to the world. Our studio isn’t exactly the “world” but it is a stepping-stone to the world ? At the time of this newborn session, nine-days-old Mary Catherine had already been featured on at least 3 Internet sites! Now she can add a Valerie and Co. feature to her list. The little pumpkin showed us a little bit of her personality when Valerie swaddled her in a soft lace shawl, Mary Catherine began inching those little finger out the top one by one until her arms were free. Her parents said, “that’s what she does!” These two know their girl well, and being parents seems to come naturally for them. We wanted to see Mary Catherine’s beautiful blue eyes for a few shots and even though she was just brand new, mom and dad already knew what makes the little miss open her eye, if only for a second. You must be quick with the camera at these newborn shoots! We were able to get a variety of photos and poses with Mary Catherine and are happy to share a few of our favorite of this sweet pea. Our studio really loved capturing all the sweetness of Mary Catherine and all the love of the newly minted family of three!
