April and Steven are the sweetest couple and we are so glad that we happen to meet them last year! We first met when we needed last minute models to stand-in while we secretly shot our couple John & Samantha as John got on one knee and proposed to Samantha. Steven & April were perfect models and happy to help us out with their surprise proposal!
Fast forward one year to today and now April and Steven are our official couple in front of the lens having their newlywed portraits done. :-) Read on to learn more about April, Steven, and their cute pup Gracie too.
It was such a treat doing a pet portrait session with 7-year-old Bedlington Terrier, Sadie Mea! She's a cute, white, fluffy, little lamb of a dog. ;-) And one of the best parts of her shoot was going down to the Melinda Armstrong-Wrenn's adorable I'On neighborhood shop, Sweet Olive, where everything has been perfectly decorated for the holidays. This provided us the perfect back drop for Sadie's Christmas themed photos! Keep reading to learn mare about sweet Sadie Mae and to check out the gallery of a few of her session photos!
We here at Valerie & Co. Photographers just adore photo sessions with our Brides, Families, Professionals, and covering special events like weddings, birthdays, and proposals. It’s heartwarming and so fulfilling to capture and give each person priceless memories and perfect portraits. But we also love when a doting pet parent wants to have portraits done of their fur babies too! These fuzzy, scaly, bald, or feathered friends are more than pets, they’re family and deserve a special picture placed up on the mantle along with the rest of the family. :-) It was such a pleasure to meet and photographer Melissa’s cute kitty cats for their pet portraits and we’re excited to share a bit about them and a few of the fun photos with you!

Pregnancy is such a unique season in life, and even though some days may not feel this way, it can all go by very quickly. It's wonderful to look back at that time of anticipation, hope, and excitement, and fondly reminisce with maternity portraits because, before you know it, life changes and your sweet little bundle of joy has arrived! Once baby is here, you’ll then need newborn portraits. :-) Babies are precious, no matter how old, however, newborn photos are such treasures to have taken before that tiny-brand-new-baby stage is gone forever. The rich spirit of adventure that children possess, is a wonderful and precious quality! Though kids seem to grow in the blink of an eye, as they age and develop, it’s amazing to witness how their experiences and explorations help shape their curious little minds into who they’ll become. Pictures that document each fun age, and the different formative stages, are a special treasure. Having your Charleston family portraits taken throughout the years will provide you with beautiful high-finished family photographs to cherish. Valerie & Co. Photographers had a fun session with adventurous young siblings, Leland and Edith, and both have big and fantastic dreams for the future!
The first day in March this year, marked the beginning of the observance of Lent. With the start of this holy season, Valerie & Co.
