engaging learning experience. Jason has provided even more information about this extraordinary institution and what is taught. Located in Mount Pleasant and serving the metro Charleston area, University School of the Lowcountry(USL) is an independent, non-sectarian, progressive school for high-achieving students in grades 3-12. By the time your third grader graduates from USL, they will have studied Latin, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese (yes, all three, and maybe more!). Explored over 40 houses of worship to better understand faiths of the world. Earned 5-10+ high school credits before ninth grade. Students exercise in PE every day in the morning, learn civics by doing – examining the issues, meeting candidates, polling voters, and predicting election results for 10 different elections. They'll experience caring and gifted teachers in small classes, and be immersed in a culture that values civility, curiosity, and empathy. University School of the Lowcountry is committed to its growth as an institution that welcomes and values a diversified school community. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, religion, economic background, or any other classification protected by law in the administration of its educational policies, financial assistance policies, or any other school policy or program.
Photographing the University School of the Lowcountry’s field trip and meeting everyone involved, was a treat for us. We loved learning about such a unique place for a kid to go to school and gain an outstanding education!
