"Ashley and I met through mutual friends, and started talking on Instagram of all places. We began dating and have been together for 14 months now. Our relationship was long distance for about 10 months, which was hard. But I figured the only way to know if things would really work was to move down here. It didn’t take me very long to know she was the one, after I got to spend every day with her!
We stated talking about marriage and Ashley and I had looked at rings at Diamonds Direct, to get an idea of what she liked! However, she had no idea of what I ended up going to get or when. The ring is a white gold halo ring that I had custom made for her. With the ring ready, I made a plan with Ashley’s mom for a surprise proposal. I had her mom take her on a scavenger hunt “for her mom’s work” while I made plans to “play hockey” that day. It was a week of build up, which featured Ashley asking her mom 1 million questions about the scavenger hunt (which is normal for her). It was finally the big day and the scavenger hunt clues that I set up led Ashley to the pineapple fountain, where I snuck up on her and proposed. To my surprise, she had no idea it was coming and it was all captured in photographs! Ashley said, 'Yes!' now we're planning our wedding for March of 2019."
Valerie & Co. congratulates the newly betrothed! We can't wait to share their fall engagement session images and spring wedding photos here on the blog!
